Three traditional Telecommunication companies, SEICOM, GERBO and MAPRA joined in October 1991 to establish SGM Telecom with the aim to develop and implement integrated solutions for Telecommunication Systems.
The company has various collaborators, mostly engineers, who have large experience in telecommunication network and systems design and implementation mainly in Radio Telephony and Mobile Radio Applications.
Presently there are Systems designed, developed and implemented by SGM in several application fields. To mention some of the most recent ones:
- VIAPAR - Rodovias Integradas do Paraná S/A, a road authority administrating 450Km of roads, completely covered by a 10-site MPT1327 Trunking System operating in 460MHz and linked to the Operation Center by a digital 2xE1 microwave radio system in 1.5 GHz. The Radio System is integrated with an intelligent drop-insert, cross-conect multiplex providing seamless communications for voice and data down to the operation fleet.
- On contract to ALSTON, SGM supplied, adapted and implemented Radio Console System for São Paulo Underground Urban Rail (Metrô). The centralized Consoles System is used to operate the whole rail network linking the Operation Center with the passenger stations, maintenance yard and the trains, in an extreme fail-safe situation.
- SGM supplied and implemented a Rubidium oscillator and GPS based, Stratum 1 Synchronization System for the SDH optical telecommunication network of COPEL - Companhia Paranaense de Energia Elétrica - Paraná State Power Utility.
- SGM developed microwave equipment components and systems for EMBRATEL, including RF power Amplifiers in 5, 6, 7.5 e 11GHz frequency ranges; DC/DC Converters; Optical Interface for alarm supervision and transportable digital emergency repeater site.
- Supply and implementation of latest generation HF system with digital signal processing consoles, including shelters, civil works and ground tower antennas for communication between VARIG headquarters and planes all over the word.
- Supply and implementation of a TEAM SIMOCO's MPT1327 Trunking System for Line 5 - Largo 13/Capão Redondo for CPTM - Companhia Paulista de Transportes Metropolitanos (Rail).
